映画『それでも僕は帰る　〜シリア 若者たちが求め続けたふるさと〜』のタラール・デルキ監督から、日本公開にあたってのオリジナルメッセージが届きました。

日本のみなさん

シリアでの戦いが始まってから4年が過ぎようとしていますが、この悪夢に終止符を打つものは未だに何も見えてきません。今日に至るまでに、何百万人ものシリア人が散り散りになり、亡命し、およそ50万人が殺されています。『それでも僕は帰る　〜シリア 若者たちが求め続けたふるさと〜』は、独裁政治に抵抗した民主化運動が当初は平和的なものであったことを思い出させます。そして、そんな勇敢に抵抗した人たちに対し、シリア政府は「殺害する」という対処しかしなかったことも思い出させます。平和的な革命運動が武装闘争へと変わって以降、犯罪は増え、無秩序な状態となり、この国は「人」を消耗し合う負の循環に陥りました。武器による混沌とした世界は、シリアに住むすべての個人、家族を脅かし、この国は崩れかかっています。

この映画を観る時、シリアで起きている悪夢は今、この瞬間も続いていることをどうか思い出してください。この作品は2011年から2013年に、ホムスという街で起きたことの私の証言です。

Dear friends and colleagues in Japan,
the war in Syria is coming to an end of it´s fourth year and yet there is nothing new on the horizon that could end this nightmare. A nightmare which dispersed and exiled millions of Syrians and killed almost half a million, until today. The story of `Return to Homs´ is a reminder of the beginnings of a peaceful revolution against a dictatorship. And it is also a reminder of the dictatorship´s only answer, which was the killing of those brave protestors. After the peaceful revolution converted into a militant one, the country fell into a loop of human exhaustion, fertilizing criminality and chaos. The region is now sinking by the chaos of weapons ,oppressing every single individual and family in Syria.
While watching `Return to Homs´ please remember that this nightmare is still going on in Syria, even in this very moment. `Return to Homs´ is my testimony of what happened between 2011 and 2013 in the city of Homs..
